Dai Shimogiato
Dai Shimogaito is the founder and CEO of AIFORENSE JAPAN DATA RECOVERY, INC., established in 1998. He is a distinguished expert in advanced data recovery and digital forensics, leading both corporate and criminal investigations.
He holds Japan's premier qualification for forensic examiners, the Certified Digital Forensics Professional–Practitioner (CDFP-P), and applies his expertise across a wide spectrum of cases—from civil matters such as data loss, internal fraud, and information leaks, to criminal cases including murder, financial fraud, and tax evasion.
A respected leader in the field, Dai has served on the executive board of the Data Recovery Association Japan (DRAJ) since 2017. He also contributes to global standards as a member of the IEEE SISWG, the working group responsible for developing the IEEE 2883, standard for sanitizing storage.
He holds patented technology related to HDD control and was awarded the Technical Development Prize by the NPO Institute of Digital Forensics (Japan) in 2018. With over two decades of hands-on experience using PC-3000, he applies the tool in practical data recovery, forensic analysis, and erasure verification.
His research has been presented at leading international conferences such as CODE BLUE and HTCIA, and he regularly delivers lectures on digital evidence to law enforcement agencies. His work continues to shape best practices in digital forensics and data recovery, integrating technical innovation with legal and investigative precision.
